Our History

Wellnz was formed in 1995 to help employers manage their work related injuries. Our client list has continued to grow and over time we have become the leader in our industry. As we continued to develop, so did our network of healthcare providers across New Zealand. This development lead to the birth of NZProvide, a 100% owned subsidiary of Wellnz, in 2003 to manage this ever growing network of providers. In 2007 the international insurance company Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) purchased a majority shareholding of Wellnz. In 2019 JLT was acquired by Marsh & McLennan Companies(MMC).

Wellnz has supported employers to enter the ACC Accredited Employers Programme, worked with many others in self-managing options and facilitated clients in the Workplace Safety Management Practices Programme. Since 2013, Wellnz has also worked as a contracted provider to ACC managing non-work injuries for Accredited Employers with exceptional results.
